My new found love for exotic colours has had my creative juices flowing all day, I was itching to get home and start creating. With a few ideas in mind, I set about with a few inspirational things...

I just love the colours here, bright blues, pinks, purples, greens and oranges. I think they all work really well together. This is the basis for my collection.
And here are a few of my initial prints, which I am already developing.

 Patterns, stripes and circles!

As it was a friends birthday at work I though I would try out a new design with added hand finished detail...

All in a days work...

These is nothing better than a creative Sunday. So I set about this morning with my design head on and pen in hand. My passion is creating stationery so I thought it was about time I created a new notebook.

And this is what I created..

Taking inspiration from a number of different sources such as; India, Henna tattoos, Bright eye catching colour and Designers Guild I created this little note book.
I love the colour pallet, Bright and vibrant, perfect for summer. If it ever comes!

There are going to be a few more designs in this collection.
This one is just a little taster!

The things that inspire me come from a range of different places, and one of them is detailed displays that are interesting for the eye. So when my eye caught sight of this little gem of a display, I couldn't resist taking a photo.

Another one that caught my eye was...
The very best of british
I found a cute little display of all things british whilst out for afternoon tea with my mum.

These nothing better than afternoon tea with your mum. Especially when your in the wars.

And whats better than a nice big treat in the shape of a belated valentines cake!
Another valentines day has been and gone!
I hope there was romance all round.

So in a bid to stay away from the commercial flowers and chocolates, my boyfriend (Ben) and I decided to create hand made gifts for each other... and they say romance is dead!

Armed with my glue, glitter and red card, I set about making Ben's card.

This is the finished product...

I sometimes struggle to find 'boyish' valentines cards, so to add a quirky feel I used scrabble letters to spell out 'I love you.'
The card went down quite well :)

On to the present...
The usually gifts for the V day are chocolates, flowers and perfume ect, however I decided against all this and created Ben something that had a meaning behind it.

This framed wonder!, Was a placement gift wrap piece I created for my final major project at Uni.
Ben had told me he really like it. So I resized the imaged to fit into a frame and also changed the wording on the right side, to say our nick names for each other. awww!
I think its save to say he loved it. :)

After a long old week,
The perfect way to relax on a saturday morning... A bit of cross stitch and book covering!
when clearing out all my old projects from college and uni, I found some material that I designed in my first year. So instead of getting rid of it, I turned it into a diary cover, adding cross stitch and buttons for extra detail. Prefect to keep me in up to date in 2012.

With the coolest pair of new glasses.. There is no excuse now not to concentrate at work!
Even the inside of the case is just as good as the glasses.

Whilst on my search to find a better job, I got chatting to a lovely lady working in a recruitment agency,
who just happened to be getting married and needed someone to make adjustments to her bridesmaid dresses, and to create her, the wedding invitations of her dreams.

Being in the right place, at the right time, really paid off that day! My second design job was born.
Its not what you know but who you know!

I was lucky enough to get talking to a women I used to work with, who just happened to need some birthday invitations for her daughters 40th birthday.

After hearing about my background in design, she asked me to create some invitations for her, and here they are...

This was my first designing job! :)
Having never really been good with words, its a wonder why I am starting to write a blog!

But as a way to display my inspiration for my passion of textiles here goes...
